I’m Amanda Barker, a Realtor who believes real estate should feel personal—because behind every move, there’s a reason, a story, and usually a whole lot of life happening at the same time.
My roots in Northwest Illinois run deep. My family has been part of this area since the 1800s, and I made Jo Daviess County my permanent home in 2013. I married into another longtime local family, and today my husband and I are raising our family here. This isn’t simply the market where I work—it’s home.
I love working with people who want an agent they can actually talk to. Whether you’re buying your first home, searching for a place to raise your family, moving to the area, looking for a vacation or investment property, or selling a home that has been part of your life for decades, I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and confident that I’ll give you an honest answer. I’m big on communication, education, and making sure my clients understand what’s happening instead of simply being told what to do.
Outside of real estate, community and connection are a big part of who I am. I serve on the Jo Daviess County Fair Board, lead a monthly women’s group focused on building genuine personal and professional connections, and am a member of the 2026 Jo Daviess County Leadership Forum. I care deeply about the future of our small towns and the people and businesses that keep them going.
But most importantly, I’m a wife and mom. When I’m not working, I’m happiest spending time with my family, slowing life down a little, getting outside, and enjoying the simple things that make living here so special.
I don’t want to simply be the person you call when you need to buy or sell a house. I want to be someone you trust, someone you can ask questions, and someone you’re glad to see around town long after we’ve left the closing table.
